The first trailer is here for Jordan Peele's 3rd film after Get Out and Us. Something odd happens in an isolated town. Possibly/probably aliens NOPE may stand for Not Of Planet Earth. The trailer doesn't give much away, which makes a change from the usual trailers now compressing the whole film into 2 minutes so you know exactly what you're getting.

Out in July

This didn't get a huge amount of attention but I thought it was a genuinely good film.

Does horror/terror (not jump scares) really well too.

It was definitely a bit different, and you don't really see where it is going.

Enjoyed it a lot.

I hope you enjoy it more than I did . It looked promising but turned out to be a real clunker, tedious rubbish , and not a patch on many 50s B movies . Terrible.

Really? Do you normally enjoy his films? I don’t normally rate them super highly but this I found to be really good.

The cinematography was excellent and I loved all the over arching themes and references.

It actually made me think of the original tremors.

I had never seen one of his films . The subject matter appealed and I think Kevin Maher in the Times rated it . I normally am on the same page as his reviews but not this time unfortunately.

I appreciate that it was one of those films that I couldn't ever conceive of conceiving myself in any known universe, which doesn't happen very often, but I was unmoved by it.

I felt like I was waiting for a revelation that never quite arrived.

It felt to me more like a M Night Shamamalamam film rather than Jordan Peele.

Slightly above average.
