Just ordered another (3rd time lucky) A71, used but near pristine for £120, so not a bad price.

It is to replace my Pixel 4a as I have started to have issues getting the battery to last a full day and I don't like having to charge before the end of the day.

Does anyone still use an A71? My first was pretty decent, but my 2nd one was a laggy mess (about 7 months ago) and I'm hoping updates have sorted any issues by now... Is anyone still using a 4G version on the latest update? Is it okay?

If it turns up and it awful, I can send it back, so not the end of the world. I did think about an A52/A52s, but this A71 ended up at half the price, so seemed like a no brainer for what should on paper be, only slightly less performance.

Cheers

Annoyingly, that particular phone turned up yesterday and had severe burn-in. Rest of the phone was pristine, so having to send it back.
I used it for the evening though and was quite happy with it, definitely faster than the last one I had. So i've ordered another! Hopefully arriving tomorrow and I have been assured there is no burn-in at all. Had to pay a bit more for this one £150, but still think it is good value compared to paying £275 for an A52s or similar.

These phones are only cheap on contract.
Just get a new one rather than pissing around with a succession of used crap ones.

Where's the fun in that?
I have an unlimited SIM only contract for dirt cheap, so to get the same with a phone would be £40+ a month, over 2 years. I think I'll pass on that one!

By buying decent, used models, I can change whenever I fancy (last year I went through probably 3 or 4 models).

I understand that wouldn't work for some, but it does for me :-)
