Gerbing Gloves useless waterproofing

I've had my XRL heated gloves for about two years now without issue. This weekend they decided to totally s
t the bed and lose ALL of their "waterproofing". Hands were absolutely sodden and made the 250 mile ride home absolute hell. I've had £50 race gloves that haven't leaked one bit in similar circumstances. Gerbings initial response has been to dry them out in the airing cupboard.....
When they were dry Sunday morning they wouldn't last more than 10 minutes before becoming totally saturated again. Really unhappy.
Anyone else had the same issue?
