Euro payment to TSB account or Revolut?

Hi all,

We may have a buyer for the boat we are selling and the payment will be in euros, as we are selling her abroad.

The amount will be about 105,000 euro and we would then want to change this to GBP and put in the TSB current account.

We have 2 options (if all goes well of course):
1. Get the euro payment direct to the UK TSB account, which will then be in GBP in the account immediately bit thinking the commission and exchange rate will be not that great.
2. Get the payment to the Revolut account (using Swift/IBAN) we have in Euro and change to GBP and then transfer to the TSB account.

Basically would be after the best GBP return to the TSB account in the end.

I've done it with Revolut - for similar amounts - and it works well. Both a better rate and absence of fees.

I have a metal account, but may be worth checking on any limits if you have a different plan.

As always with Revolut - do the FX during the week as the rate spread increases over the weekend.

I don't like to leave large balances on Revolut though, so the big stuff passes in & out quickly.

Looks like you'd need at least a Premium account with Revolut

That is my thought at the moment, get any payment to the Revolut account and then transfer to the TSB account.

Luckily we have the Premium account!

Timing is your only other consideration - unless you own the accounts at both ends. However, that's likely the same in either case.

International payments seem to take a few days and are in a bit of a black hole in the interim.
