Alternatives to A4 / A6 avant?

Currently on the look out for a new car for daily commuting and shipping the rather large dog about! Did have our heart set on an A4 Allroad, however looking to see what else we should consider:

- Must have a large boot
- Preferably estate, rather than SUV body style
- Must be all wheel drive (hills, snow and ice)
- No older than 2015

Apart from the A4 / A6 Avant quattro or BMW 330d xdrive is there anything else worth considering?

Just posted something similar on someone else’s thread, but I would look at a Superb. I’ve got an A4 allroad at the moment and it is not big enough, certainly if you’ve got a fair sized dog.

Volvo V90/Cross Country would be where my money would go. Didn't see any budget mentioned but the V90 starts at £15k and the Cross Country at £20k.

If you want A4 size instead of A6 size then the V60 Cross Country is also 4wd and starts at about £30k

There are lots of good alternatives it just depends on how much you want to spend & what you're looking for from the car, for example does it have to be AWD?

I bought a 2021 V60 Cross Country and returned it the same day. Out of the 60 odd cars I've had, it had the worst ride comfort of all of them. Shockingly bad
