DIY Spray painting at home
Discussion
Hello,
Does anyone actually spray paint anything at home anymore?
I used to (fair time ago) have a compressor and spray paint equipment at my parents house......repaired and painted a fair few wings, bonnets, wheels and other parts......but this was cellulose based and not as hazardous to health.
I've read up recently about spray painting at home (here's a good link https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/spray-painting.htm) and even with aerosols, 2K paint and even 1K can be seriously damaging to the lungs.
I would dearly love to get back into painting, as it was extremely satisfying and enjoyable........does anyone have a set up on here that is safe to use, but not professional to the point of being unaffordable.
Looking for inspiration...

It's ALL hazardous to health if you don't use the proper protective equipment & that includes cellulose.
In the 70's I worked in a motor factors & paint was one of the things we sold. At the time 2k was just in the process of coming out & cellulose was the paint on cars.
On the same estate was a one-man-band bodyshop.
Only ever wore dustmasks.
In his mid 30's & the slightest effort - even walking across the yard from his unit to our counter - saw him wheezing & coughing. I moved on to another job & don't know how he fared but I doubt he would have made old bones.
You link doesn't work for me.
