Man on Fire (though he was already dying, but could likely have been saved).

A nice idea. Those sorts of sacrifices really get to me.
Rather reeling off a list, can we have one per post, with an succinct explanation of why you like it, if it moves you? I'd like to know a bit more if I don't know the character, and the reasoning, it may be different to mine.
I have a few in mind, I'm cogitating on them.
I remember the Isador Strauss scene, it contrasts heavily with the owner who nips on quick.

Iron Man in End Game. He had the perfect life already but gave it all up knowing the outcome to save billions.

Can't believe I forgot about this.
Never heard a cinema erupt in cheers so much when this happened, well I did just before when Cap lifts Mjolnir and then before that when he says Avengers Assemble.
But yes it was one if the best cinema going experiences I've ever had and a massive sacrifice for him, even though he made one in a previous film taking the nuke into the portal.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.
