This looks brilliant.
I have a silver dollar Elvis gave a relative, or used to have it, I've not been able to find it recently.
I bet that's left you all shook up. Is it always on your mind?I have a silver dollar Elvis gave a relative, or used to have it, I've not been able to find it recently.
I think it looks interesting. A straight biopic would be pointless, his life story is well known. Colonel Tom Parker's role and his own as a star that integrated what American audiences called 'race' music is a good angle.
Edit: Tom not Top....

Planning to go and see this because apart from all the obvious stuff that everyone knows (GI then rock n roll megastar, few films, disappeared, returned, white glittery suit, Las Vegas, fat, died on the bog) I don’t really know much about him.
If it’s accurate it should be interesting and the trailer looks good.
EDIT I know something else about him, quite the PH factoid if it actually happened: apparently he had a DeTomaso Pantera and it wouldn’t start. Instead of swearing and randomly spraying WD40 he fetched his gun and shot it
rock n roll!

Col Tom Parker was not not an American citizen and was not a Colonel. He was a circus performer. If you an get to Memphis the tour is an epic few hours and a great way to enjoy the Elvis story. The film will generate interest but alas doesn’t begin to really explain Elvis and his complex relationships with his entourage TCB and his manager who tied him into Vegas to pay off his massive mob debts. Elvis deserved better.

I think one of the few times (the only time) Presley stood up to Parker was the 1968 comeback. Parker wanted a show of Christmas songs with Elvis in the style of Perry Como.Parker was no different from a lot of managers who exploited their charge as a meal-ticket. It was most notably Peter Grant who changed all that.
