Freight trains
Discussion
Normally on a Friday afternoon it’s non stop freight trains.
Today none. Presumably the wind has stopped play.
But presumably some drivers are not where they should be, some trains stuck somewhere and loads of backlog to catchup?
How do they do this? Longer trains, more trains, more hours or just let it sort itself out?

Its bad enough for passenger trains. On our local line a train was stuck at our station for 9 hours. The original crew were replaced by one sent down by taxi after 5 hours. They'll try and get as much sorted overnight as possible, but yes they'll be shifting crew around as much as they can
Next door neighbour drives for SWR and says they’ve got stock and crews all over the place now. They’re not risking getting crews home by road either.
He spent an entire shift watching TV in the depot messroom yesterday as his intended train was stuck somewhere between Southampton and Waterloo.

We showcase how the railways kept the nation moving during the age of steam, in an interesting and varied event.
Five steam locomotives, one diesel loco, and our Diesel Railcar are all due to be in action. Expect a variety of working railway demonstrations, intensive timetable and variety of freight trains.

Interesting indeed - I wonder where that is?
