i've been meaning to get around to getting up to newcastle and rescuing my G33 from it's garage and get it sorted for summer :paperbag: but after 4 months of neglect it's booked in to macdonalds on thursday :bounce: for a service and general fettle (ie sort everything that seems to go out of tune within 500 miles :D)

has anyone any suggestions for upgrades that I could ask for?

I was thinking getting the chip they've formulated but it goes on to the morgan V8 not the RR V8 that I have and I wondered if this is really an issue or not? also what about head work? is it worth it and how much generally for some sorted RV8 heads?

I also would really like to get rid of the standard RR manifolds and replace them with something a lot more free flowing!

any recommendations?

btw the handling and brakes are already good :)

on the topic of rover V8 heads im sure the best place to ask that would be either the engine section or the TVR boys, you could always go for some wildcat heads or something similar

Presumably that's Macdonalds Racing of Lanchester?
If so they know the G33 v.well - did their own G33 upgrade called the Rapide. Should be ideal for advice on wide range of tuning (extend your bank loan now...!)

that's right!

they are lovely people, sold my car orignally, and subsequently sold it to the second owner and then arranged for me to buy it from him.

i've just been on the phone to Ian (Macdonald) and we were talking about the rapide, he has some second hand dell'ortos and four branch manifolds with all the bits that he's willing to let me have for a steal, i'm so tempted!

I don't think it was the differential that was knackered btw, I think it was a wheel bearing! but I couldn't tell because the car is so loud!
