HI,

I have an Asus Rog Strix G15 with an RTX 2060 GPU. Currently I am running two monitors. One from HDMI, the other from the USB C output. I want to swap the two monitors for a massive TV, and then use two smaller monitors for a FlightSim. In the short term, want to run 4 separate monitors (the PO for the TV is still with the FD (Wife))

But with only those two ports is this going to be possible? Quick google gave me mixed answers. The RTX can handle up to 4 monitors I understand.

Thanks

A docking station may be the easiest option.

I can't remember the model, as it's on my desk in the office, but I use three monitors from a Dell USB-C docking station.

Directly off the laptop, you can have three screens - the built in one, HDMI and USB-C to either HDMI or Displayport.

If you want more, you can probably get away with a USB-C docking station which has multiple display outlets, but be warned they can be flakey OR they will output, but perhaps at low refresh rates. Or they might be fine. I was going to suggest a thunderbolt dock, but I think your laptop is AMD and they tend not to support it (intel only thing).

Thanks. I have a 10th gen i7 so will have a look at the Thunderbolt docks. Refresh rate might be an issue as one main screen will have the main flight sim and the other two will be docked windows of the avionics

Run the largest, most demanding screen off the built in HDMI, and the lower size ones off the dock.

I have a docking station (most of them are DisplayLink). Great for adding (three) screens to a laptop, but refresh speeds are slower than the normal monitor. Fine for Excel, not good enough for games.

Your GPU might be able to daisy-chain DisplayPort or HDMI?

Consider a Matrox Triplehead to go - I used one about 8 years ago with a macbook pro running 3 * 24" external monitors.
I used it to provide a wrap around display and in that format it showed up as one very widescreen monitor. I seem to recall it could also split the desktop between monitors. Perhaps you can run your main display direct from the display port and then split the other display for gauges into the matrox input.
I use a raspberry pi and air manager for gauges etc.

I'm successfully running three 24" Monitors from an i5 laptop connected to an HP Thunderbolt docking station. Two HDMI's from the docking station and one direct from the laptop. As I understand it, very few processors support more than three monitors.
