Front registration plate on a 355?

My front registration plate grounds out on the floor constantly - mainly due to the angle of my driveway when entering the garage.

The plate itself is mounted on a bracket, thing is I'm sure I've seen past pictures of 355s with a plate that 'wraps round' the actual body work at the front.

If I could use one of these I would have no issues ;-)

Is this just imagination or am I going to have to put up with the scraping and the eventuality of it falling off? Not even sure they're legal?

Thanks for any help!
Jason

i just took them off, if i get stopped I would tell the officer that i lost them in the carwash and am on my way to the garage to let them fix it.

Actually i have never had to use this excuse and i am doing this for years now (and driving a lot.) I keep the plate with me in the car so i can show it if necessary.

May be I should better not post this, because if everybody will use my excuse they don't believe me anymore.

I did an interview for a Dutch magazine a few years ago, in which i explained that i pass traffic jams over the hard shoulder with flashing hazard lights, telling the cops that my engine run hot and i don't want to block the road/hard shoulder unnecessarily.

A pity that i can not use my own excuse anymore after they published this....

Besides I think front-plates look ugly.

dunno re: this....but I havent now had a front numberplate on my elise for 5 months, and no-one has even noticed. (oh, except two cops who were walking along the road when I was stuck in traffic and said "oi mate, you havent got a front numberplate!" and then just wandered off!

I use the flexy type stick on type on my 355, and clear protective cover. It fits the contours of the 355s front bumper. I posted pics when i did it a few months ago on F.chat, if you want to do a search. I dont know how to post on here.

I also have a stick on plate on the 355. Posted on FChat (search for signs with impact, perhaps without the spaces).

The one on the 7 falls off regularly. Not had any hassle in many years - but then why would they? It just fell off and I'm on my way to get it sorted...

Do you remember where you bought the plate from? I followed the link on 456mgts post and don't think I'm technical enough to see that one through ;-)
