You receive an email from the management saying you have had an offensive post removed, here are the posting rules, do it again you naughty boy and you could be banned.
Not remembering even making an offensive post, and the two posts you did make are still there for all to see in the thread, you start to think that old age is kicking in and maybe you are going a bit senile.
Not to worry, they offer you a lifeline. If you would like to query this please contact us on info@pistonheads.com or whatever the email was. I forget now, see the trend here, as I have deleted the email.
Anyway, what I do know is that when you send a polite request back late at night asking if PH could clarify which post was offensive because I honestly cannot remember making an offensive post, and would like to avoid a repeat offence, if indeed one has been committed, you get an acknowledgement of receipt and saying their email is manned between 9.00 and 17.00 Mon to Frid and they will get back to you asap.
When you then finally next morning read the small print it gives a number of reasons why they will not respond further to your polite request for clarification.
One of these reasons is that Mods decisions are final and will not be discussed or changed so basically go away and don't darken our doors again, thus snatching that lifeline away again.
I was not contesting any removal, just asking what had actually been removed.
Might have been easier to clarify this in the original email telling me I have had a post removed and don't bother to contact the contact email we give you because your reason for contacting us is not allowed
I don't suppose after all this any one from PH will want to just clarify which post was removed from the conspiracy thread as it all seems like one big conspiracy.
Yes, I agree, I have far to much time on my hands but it has been therapeutic.

You didn't, I had a look. When I have had a post removed in the past as you describe they have always said that and not to worry you have done nothing wrong.

I was more amused by the situation I described re being told you can ask for clarification then when I did being told I couldn't

Probably with different tabs open they copied and pasted it onto the wrong open reply window. Ignore it there is no "offensive content removed" on there.When I have had a post removed in the past as you describe they have always said that and not to worry you have done nothing wrong.

I've been emailed like this, and at the bottom of the email there was a quote/reference to what had been removed, which clarified that it was indeed just something I had quoted.
PH's system is better than the FB system; I keep getting thrown out of groups, but as the group simply vanishes as if it had never existed, I never know why, so can't learn from the experience.
