I PCP'd an Audi 6 months ago. Today a cheque for £265 arrived in the post from the dealers. The letter accompanying it suggests it is £250 deposit contribution that they forgot to apply to the deal, and £15 for my trouble.

I have been getting a LOT of adverts from claims companies about Audi mis-selling PCP.

Has anybody had anything similar happen?

Could anyone shed light on whatever PCP mis-selling is alleged to have gone on?

I'm struggling to see how you think Audi refunding a missed deposit contribution is mis-selling a PCP, are you looking for an angle to get money or get out of the contract? If so, I think if your only example is them coming back to you with the missed contribution plus a 'sorry' payment is thin grounds for trying that on.

Never mind the claims companies - were you happy with the deal?

Assuming it's not an interest free PCP, would you not now be paying interest on that extra £250 you've borrowed, over the entire period of the PCP?

I'm trying to find out if Audi have been caught mis-selling PCPs, and how. I have a suspicion the dealer was trying to trouser the deposit contribution.

There was a LOT of pricking around with the deal structure and paperwork from this dealer.

I PCP'd another Audi with a different dealer the next week and they were much more organised with the paperwork.

Maybe have a look on their website so if they have any bad reviews from the same issue ?

could be an issue i suppose or maybe poor management

Happy enough with the monthlies but the dealer changed their tune on a few things after I'd taken a flight to pick the car up.

A couple of people alluding to pushing PCP but mostly just the usual complaints about main dealer customer service.

Compo face required

TBF I did come across something well dodgy when I had a "discounted" £1 bet with one of the national bookmakers on Wimbledon - can't remember what it was but something like Federer at 15/1 rather than 2/1.
One of those advertised in a newspaper, not anything tailored to me, so I imagine a few ten thousand people signed up.

A few days after he wins, nothing paid. I have to chase by email to which they immediately acknowledge - oops, our mistake, here's your money.

Wonder how many people never chased / forgot about their bet?

The PCP "mis-selling" is claims companies flying a kite form deals done years ago. The PPI bandwagon has crashed so now they're looking for additional revenue streams.

Sounds like they were a bit disorganised, forgot to give you £250 and have now rectified that with a little more to cover your losses. How you arrive at the conclusion that they're trying to trouser anything says more about you than anything else.

Speak to one of the claims companies to see what aspect of mis-selling they are proposing to claim for. If they are vague with their answer that tells you all you need to know.

If they do tell you report back here and tell us.
