Vanquish Gen 2 How to tell if it's updated spec

Hello,

I am looking at getting a Vanquish Gen 2 Coupe, 8-speed model. Obviously, when I drive it, I can change manually and see that it goes up to gear 8 in the dash but I wanted to know if it is an 8-pseed car, does that automatically mean it is the updated version, new AM29 engine, ECU, suspension changes etc ?

Did they do 8-speed cars without the above updates..? I am looking at a Carbon Black Edition and it's a 2015 car.

I have a 2015 Carbon Black Vanquish and can verify that all 2015 MY Vanquishes have 8 speed transmissions and AM29 engines (with Bosch ECU’s). They are great cars. Good luck with your search.

Thank you, unfortunately that one sold - I am looking at a 2014 model now, anyway to check if that one has had the updates ?

The change to 8 speeds began in 2014. In the US, I believe that all 2014 Vanquishes were 6 speeds. I preferred the ZF 8 speed but the 6 speeds are also great cars.

Yes, all Vanquish 8 speeds have the AM29 engine, suspension updates, etc.

All MY 15 cars have an 8 spd and I believe production started around July 2014 (?) So some cars later 14 cars will have the 8 but some older 6 spd cars that weren't registered until 2015 so just double check.
All 8 spd are showing 568 bhp while 6 sod show 565.
By the drivers door on the floor behind the handbrake is a square lump under the carpet about 4 inches by 3. This also proves it to be an 8 spd ( its something for the gear box)
On a 6 that part of the floor is flat (immediately to the rear of the handbrake)

Just read all through your thread, congrats on that Vanq S, looks stunning with the yellow accents.

I'm looking for Vanquish 8-speed but not in a rush as I have an R8 V10+ to keep me happy. Interesting to read about your insurance companies, please keep us updated with what you find, I'll check back on that post.

Yeah I had hoped to ring around brokers today but my dear beloved decreed it was more important to go looking at tiles for the garden as she has a landscaper booked in soon to do the patio etc.
So Monday morning on the phones it will be
