Err what have I purchased?

Hello all,

I ordered a nearly new set of mats listed for a Vantage of my era… however… they’re nothing like the mats in my 2011 :/

Any idea what they’re actually from?

Going to sell them on once I know for sure. They’re mint.

Looking at the rectangular plastic protector, my guess is that they might be for a left hand drive car of some description.

They look like the official AM mats to me and from your picture for a RHD car too. There are attachment lugs in the kit which screw in to the carpets and the mats attach with a rotating locking clip that goes through the hole at the bottom of the mat in to the lug. I guess your car hasn’t got these sorts of mats fitted at the moment? From memory AM normally charge around £350 for a set, although it’s a while since I bought any. I do remember that you can’t buy the clips separately though.

Look like LHD to me. Do they fit your car if you turn them upside down?

The Aston Martin logo on the side of each mat should be next to the kick plate, ie closest to the door, so it looks like they should be RHD to me. The one with the big plastic insert is for the drivers side. Hard to see just from the pictures though.

So they definitely look rhd and they are oem mats.

BUT, this must mean that different vantage ages have different carpets?. My mistake if that’s the case…

My carpets go under the seat and are attached by anodised plates near the rails. These do not cover the whole floor area beneath on my car.

Fairly sure these mats will fit any Vantage model up until new Vantage in 2017/2018, unless it was different in the very early cars? I had a 2007 V8 and now a 2012 V12 and both sets were/are the same as the ones you’ve bought. They don’t go right under the seat, but if you take your current ones out and try the new ones for size, I suspect they will fit, and you will be able to see where the lugs need to be screwed in to the carpet. Definitely AM OEM, although I think they were an optional extra at the time.

I tried them yesterday and they’re totally different :/

Unless im being special.. they’re seemingly much shorter than the oem ones in my car. These don’t seem to get anywhere near the seat :/

Had an email from a very helpful user that believes that the matts are correct and that I am looking at the carpet not the mats which is why they’re different and that these sit on top.

If this is the case, I feel like a muppet haha but… Thankyou and I shall try it tomorrow.

That makes more sense from what you described. The standard carpet is good quality, and there is a pad on the drivers side too. That’s why the mats you bought, which are effectively over mats and sit on top, were a cost option and weren’t always fitted as a result. Good luck today.
