I think this is a fair shout but I don't think it has to be an Italian plate - France would work too.If it is GO & Italian that's Gorizia. If France, Gironde.

I think that only the Italians use the small front plate as seen in the photo but if it were French CA-CR seems to have been Bouches-du-Rhone - but I think those plates were of the nnnn ll nn format where N are digits and L are lettersAllan L said:

I think it's GO rather than CO, and I think France only adopted the digit suffix once the number of vehicles grew, but not certain.
