I'm having trouble resetting the security questions for my Apple ID.

I don't know the answer to any of the questions it asks, so I try and reset them only to be told "Cannot reset security questions -
We do not have sufficient information to reset your security questions"

Whenever I try any of Apple's online help it ends up back at the same place saying the same thing.

I got an email informing me that an app was downloaded to an unknown device. It wasn't me. The name on the email was wrong, so I thought I'd better change my password and check the security settings. I've managed to change the password but can't get any further into the account because I don't know the answers to the security questions.

Any ideas other than going into an Apple store? The nearest one to me is over 50 miles away.

Try Apple Live Chat or Call them. They are generally helpful.

IIRC after 30 days etc - it will let you reset via an email.

You doing it on an Apple device in the settings app signed in to your iCloud account? You can usually get through further on a device than on the website as the device already being signed in is a factor.

Did this and it worked thank you.
I set up 2FA and now I don't need the security questions. Found out my account was being used by someone in Oslo even though the download originated in China!

Looks like the account had been hacked, but I've got it under control again. Thanks for the replies.

Let this post be a lesson to anyone else landing here to go enable 2fa right now!

Or not forget your reset Q and As?

From what I know you’ll get alerts about new logins to your email address so you’d spot shenanigans straight away?
