Can I open a cash isa then immediately transfer to s&s isa?

I've filled my s&s isa allowance this year

Can I just open a cash isa, then immediately transfer it to my s&s isa to get more in?

I note isa transfers don't count for limits, and you can transfer cash isas to s&s

If I understand correctly, the answer is NO.

£20k is the max per FY, so if you have put that in the S&S ISA already then you can’t put anything in the cash ISA until next FY.

You can transfer in old ISA holdings.

The different allowances for cash and s&s isa finished years ago. It’s been a flat £20k a year in any isa combination for a long time.

The answer to your question is therefore no.
