Advice on e350 please!

Morning all. I have previously posted a couple of standard 'what car' questions, with my current lease ending and not being able to find a suitable replacement.
Well, the current lease is now being collected in a week, and I still don't have a car lined up to replace it. I had settled on either an S4 Avant or 440i GC, but a change in circumstances means I've had to lower the budget somewhat for now.
So, I'm now in absolute panic stations as need a car immediately. I'm currently doing around 20k miles a year, and am looking to spend up to £15k. I am trawling auto trader daily!
I am going to view this car later. I wonder if anyone has any experience of these, in particular known issues or things I should check have been done?

I presume you are aware that it looks like none of them are ULEZ compliant?

I know very little about Jags, but if I were you I'd be googling Jaguar Land Rover 3.0D engine problems as the previous 2.7D didn't have a good reputation.

Rear subframe rusting is a £1500-£2000 replacement- very common now on all Mercedes of that era. Also brake pipes corrode and that is subframe down- over £1000 when you factor in the labour so if the subframe needs doing it’s worth inspecting the pipes. Some dealers are approaching Mercedes and this work is being done FOC but they don’t want to do it (the dealers) Same for older W211 with SBC issues, they’ve been recently replacing them FOC.
Seeing quite a few now where the gearboxes are having issues.
Nox sensors going for a past time, and there is a worldwide shortage back order of them.

Well, as budget creeps go this is a biggy. But, this seems a lot of car for the money, I could see it as a much longer term keeper. I can just about make the finances work. So, same question really, anything to be especially careful of on something like this?

I bought a 8000 mile 2018 640d for £27k about 18 months ago. I think that one you linked to, is too expensive. Also, you need it to have the 'comfort' seat option, without it, the seats are terrible. With them and VDC its lovely.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202202262...

Just be aware, they're a very wide car, also long, quite tiny on the inside. I sold mine for a e400d estate, as the estate was smaller in external dimensions and twice the size inside.
its a good engine in the 640d.
I looked at the a8 also. I'll still get one one day. however when I looked, I wasn't blown away by the quality. a Merc s350d was better in that regard.

In my 6 months of ownership I have loved it. A few things that go wrong; rear subframes are rotten. I was lucky enough to get mine done under goodwill. Brake pipes like to corroded. But mine is 10 years old in Cornwall so what can I expect. DPF pressure sensor also a know fault, a cheap fix. Easy to do.

I had an E350 CDI for 6 years. Great car overall, but watch out for the oil cooler seals going, it's a £10 part with a £600 labour bill to change as it's in the V of the engine. Common issue on these. Good build quality overall though and did us well for 60k miles, I took it up to 115k...never let us down.
Evening everyone... thanks to everyone for comments and suggestions so far, all very helpful and appreciated. Unfortunately i'm still at an impasse, and to be honest as daft as it seems its made me really anxious! Maybe as my current car is being collected on monday and I still dont have a replacement lined up, which is a new situation for me.
The issue I have is that I cant stop flip flopping on best course of action. Having been in leases for over 10 years and jumped straight from good deal to good deal, having this option unavailable has really snookered me. I have written off leasing now obviously due to timescale. So, I DEFINITELY need to buy something.
The problem is with used car prices being so inflated - of course I am not alone in this boat. I am worried about spending an inflated amount on a car, then used prices dropping substantially within a short space of time.
With that in mind, I was convinced that I would buy an 'interim' car, circa £10-£12k, then see what happens with the market, if it drops then upgrade to something I actually want to keep. The options at this price point are uninspiring to say the least - I spend a lot of time in the car, averaging 3 hours a day probably. So, I kind of know that if I get something I really dislike, it well get very old very quickly.
Then I get to thinking I could max out my budget, including some savings, which opens up options around the £30k mark. These are where I think 'what if the same car is £25k in 6 months'.
Of course noone can give a definitive answer on this, its crystal ball stuff. But, come the weekend, I will need to do something whichever way I go!

340i touring
335d GC
S5 sportback (had a coupe and loved it)
And, possibly, COMPLETELY different I know, XC60 - purely as i'm told that they are ace for comfort and I do lots of driving.
I'm well aware that this is an impossible brief and nobody can answer it for me, I wanted to put an update as I appreciate that people have taken the time to help. The search goes on!
