'What caused it' is blindingly obvious from the photos. Why is this in NP&E?
Blindingly obvious? Please elaborate, there are 2 x photos of not much detail. (I can't tell the cause and I've been digging up and rebuilding roads for 25 years)
Or badger gas perhaps?
Maybe the Thunderbirds Mole malfunctioned?
Well as a wild guess looking at the height of one side vs the other that's probably a rotational landslide triggered by the big muddy building site just above it putting more rain into the ground above there and lubricating it.
Looks confusing on that view because you aren't really seeing the whole slip, just the consequences at one point near the top.
Fun thing to try to fix.
