Short campers with "Island Bed"
Discussion
I post this knowing not of what I speak.
My in laws are after a new camper van and want something 6 meters or under in length, but with an island bed.
Initial Google fu seems to suggest the ask may be hard to achieve.
Any recommendations of brands/models to look out for - or is this search in vain....

I don't think it exists, to me a camper is a Transit, T6, Sprinter, the Transit and T6 will never get an island bed, the sprinter and Boxers tend to have the bed across the back of the van.
Now if they have 50/60k to spend your into motorhome territory, however they will be over 6mtrs

There are not any 6m vans eith an Island Bed, the Island bed pushes the bathroom and rest if the van forward and its just not possible to fit it into 6m.
6.5m is really your minimum and even that is a niche that doesn't really sell in the UK where we value some sort of comfy lounge as well.
The Chausson Flash and Welcome 638 from 2017 and 2018 are 6.5m Island bed vans, sold well for one year then everyone who wanted one got one and sales dried up so they dropped it but you will find find used.
Offset Island bed is a good option, not a French bed but not quite an Island, it leaves room for the bathroom alongside the bed so giving a better lounge and kitchen, ypu can still get out both sides just, they are still 6.5m but worth a look, vans like the Rapido 640 which became the 650 are a good example and Burstner did one too.
