997.1 Airbag light on fault code 801C

The air bag light on my 2006 Carrera 997.1 is permanently on. My local Indy has confirmed fault code 801C “ passenger seat thorax, short curcuit to ground (no fault, symptom available). Seat has been swapped for a known good one, but fault still present (no fault had been logged on donor car) Plug connection checked, and no signs of shorting.
The garage has said my only remaining option is to book into my local Porsche dealership, which I have done.
Slightly apprehensive about findings and possible cost.
Have any of you guys experienced a similar issue, and what was your outcome?
