718 GTS 4.0 Condensation in Rear Light Clusters

My Cayman is 18 months old and has a propensity for condensation to form in both of the rear light clusters. It always seems to be present to a greater or lesser degree. The N/S cluster war replaced under warranty after about 9 months as the condensation was forming into droplets which were running down the inside of the lens. Anyone else suffer with this?

My newish Cayenne has suffered from the same problem since day one. I haven’t got round to doing anything about yet…

My 15 month old Cayman GTS 4.0 has got condensation in both rear light clusters at the moment.
Haven't looked into doing anything about it but will probably mention it when I next visit my local OPC.

Its a total non-issue, the light clusters breathe so are susceptible to this - but it does not affect the function, and will clear within a short distance once you start driving.

Correct. My 981 did it for 4 years with no issues, and my 718 has done it for 2.

Completely nornal and is only a problem if it doesn't clear (which means the drain holes are blocked).

Yes both my 718's did/do it , looks a bit odd but as far as I can tell isnt doing any damage

My 718 does it too when washed, not done anything about it

Happens to other cars too. Currently parked next to a new Puma with similar condensation in both rear light units.

This. Nothing to worry about. They clear by themselves.

I agree with the other comments on here. My previous 718 suffered on one rear cluster that never caused any issues. I mentioned it to Porsche who gave me “They all do that, nothing to worry about” response.

Very different to when I owned a Toyota GT86 many years ago. Similar happened with condensation in one of the rear clusters. “They should never do that” was the response. Immediately replaced the cluster under warranty.

Glad I'm not the only one.

I could never accept it.

They didn't design the light cluster thinking we'd better let a bit of condensation form in them.

I've had plenty of cars, they certainly don't all do it.

I had to replace mine after the car went out of warranty....

Over £1k in parts and time - with a goodwill gesture from Porsche £200.

They told me the lenses were prone to stone chips - yes I know I questioned that as well - but they pointed them out before the work commenced.
