It certainly is a good film overall, the ending gets me in the feels every time. I think the personal and routine style of the film helps you bond with the two characters, it's that aspect that makes it stand out.
Speaking of which, I had thought recently to rewatch it, I've not seen it for quite a few years now.

Southland immediately came to mind within the first 10 minutes of End Of Watch. As with Homicide - Life On The Streets it's a great depiction of partners shooting the breeze whilst solving crime but I find Jake Gyllenhall's character to be a bell-end that it never warranted repeated viewing.Best cop show? The Wire
