Chaps need your opinions
Had the exhaust welded today, the last section. Whilst under the car I noticed some thing that did not look quite right,
At the front coming from the lower left off the engine looks like an oil pipe it has a large banjo fitting into a largish diameter pipe.
Now the problem the pipe had an extra piece of pipe tie wrapped round it.
This car was definitely loosing oil, I had it checked under warranty and was told an oil pipe was split and was replaced.
Now forgive me for being suspicious, is this extra bit of pipe put there for protection of the other pipe as the dealer has stated.
Or is it a bodge job.
I am off to TVR Craft tomorrow to have the Cerb rolling roaded (sp), I will ask them to remove the “safety Pipe” and see it the other has a split in it, I fear I already know what I am going to find.

I have had all my pipes armoured in a similar fashion. Having just replaced all the water hoses for silicone I did not want any hoses water or oil chaffing through, especially as some of the bodywork can be pretty sharp.
If the additional hose looks out of place it may have slid along the hose it’s protecting. In any case the oil and water pressure of these engines means that this would not even be an effective temporary repair. The pressure would empty the engine of oil in a few minutes and you would notice oil spraying out from underneath. It is after all running at 70-80psi.
I would say the armouring is legit and that it was probably a nice/sensible mechanic doing you a favour making your parts last longer.
