Good evening all,

I was hoping someone could assist me, it appears I have a leak on the Air con pipe and thus I cannot re gas , it has been identified as to where the leak is and thankfully it is accessible, my question is this ,can a part of the pipe be replaced , or do I have to replace the whole pipe and thus Engine out job , please noooo ?

I had one of the aircon pipes replaced in the engine bay last summer as it had split. It didn't need the engine out. The pipe was also a Jaguar component which if you can identify what it is will be cheaper than buying one from Aston (of course!)

Good luck - it should be a relatively straight forward job

I have just had a similar experience on my V12VS. For some reason a pipe had started rubbing on a bolt head (after 32,000km) wearing a hole in it. Fortunately it was able to repaired (cost $88, versus $720 for the new part) with some delicate aluminium welding.

I was similarly worried about needing to pull engine out to get to it but mechanic managed it without that
