I can’t stand watching that brummie bellend, but it’s mighty impressive that Carwow have managed to get a DBX707 for a drag race with the Urus waaaay before the press drives.
If you don’t want to watch the bellend and other bellend (Yianni):
Needless to say, with nearly 70hp more, launch control and only weighing 25kg more, the DBX707 wins easily in the drag and rolling start. You’d expect that though, Aston wouldn’t have lent them the car this early without knowing 100% that it would win.

As I get older the more I end up saying “ so what ? “
My cars faster than yours is only really relevant if you’re doing a YouTube comparison. In the real world, on the road, most modern “sports cars” are plenty fast enough to get you around. What will you do with the extra 0.3s in a 1/4 mile that you’ve saved ?
If you need the bragging rights to say “my car’s faster than yours”, then there’s something missing in your life.
What matters to me more these days is how it looks, how it sounds and how the overall package makes you feel.
It’s nice to have a fast car, but there will always be someone with a faster one.
My cars faster than yours is only really relevant if you’re doing a YouTube comparison. In the real world, on the road, most modern “sports cars” are plenty fast enough to get you around. What will you do with the extra 0.3s in a 1/4 mile that you’ve saved ?

I'm a member of a few "super-car" whatsapp groups. I find it strange how so many boring AMGs/Audi S/BMW's people think are supercars. They are super-cars but not supercars. I'd much rather be in something slower and unique than a family wagon tuned up to 11. They're dull dull dull dull dull.
They'd spank my DBS and probably draw a bigger younger crowd at a pub meet but I'd much rather be sat with a few other olde petrol heads mumbling about the good olde pre turbo days anyway.

Yes indeed, and olde mumble, sounds enticing, especially in a pub! I prefer the dream of having the likes of an old Lancia Fulvia HF or Datsun 240Z, something with character and fun, rather than the modern crop. The numbers game leaves me cold. My first 5 cars were Fulvia 1.3s, that was mid to late 80’s when my mates used to laugh at me for being an oddball. Eventually had 1600HF and then Evo 1 intégrale.Funnily enough, I saw a 1600HF on the road today. Only the second one ever (apart from mine) in 36 years of driving !

Back as a yoof the Fulvia and Alfa GTV (which you did actually see around) were formative cars. I owned an Isuzu Bellett for a while, which had a similar form factor if you stretched your imagination. The were actually assembled in NZ so you could find them around, unlike the Italians.

I did watch this drag race only because it involved an Aston however, as other have said, I would prefer to be talking of cars that has character than the traffic light rockets from the Germans that most younger people think are the dogs danglies.
A Lancia, Alfa, JDM cars of yesteryear are way more appealing to me.

Presumably the manufacturing costs must be very similar to the original DBX.
Same engine turned up a bit, but for sale at a higher price
If there are buyers who seek a more powerful version, then give what they want and bank their money.
