Is it a good colour or a bit bland?
I went to see a Rapide S today in Meteorite and I was a little bit underwhelmed. The weather was very grey and miserable and I know some colours just don’t look their best in this type of weather.
The inside however looked stunning in black with the diamond quilting (which I didn’t like in the photos) and contrasting stitching.
To my eyes it just looked a little flat, hoping it was just the weather and you’ll all tell me it’s a great colour in the light….

When I was choosing a colour for a Vantage I came across Meteorite, but it was a wet day and it seemed to me, that the colour had changed to have a brownish tint to it. I subsequently saw a lighter grey colour which I liked, and later found the name to be Grigio Titanio (Ferrari). I intended to buy used, so was rather disappointed to be told there were very few built in that colour. Remarkably, some time later, one was for sale and I bought it.
Light grey on a dull day, which changes to bright silver in sunshine.
Whether there are any Rapides in that colour I don't know. The closest Aston Martin colour is Tungsten Silver.

My first V12V was in Meteorite Silver. Its a nice colour, don't get me wrong but yes, it is a bit bland. Any CF on the car simply merges into Meteorite as they are almost the same colour. All depends on if you are a grey/silver/black kinda guy or a more colourful person. As silvers/greys in the Aston Range go, Scintilla Silver and Magnetic Silver are the best hands down IMHO. Scintilla is the paler of the two, but both have a HUGE amount of metallic flake which is mesmorising.
Disclaimer - our AMR Rapide is Scintilla, but thats only because of how I felt about the colour before
Something rather dull about the colours of Astons. We've a dealer nearby and rarely do the colours on the forecourt have any attraction.

Matt black being nowerdays considered a bit interesting. Sometimes I see that they paint the brake things a garish colour.
Like bankers wearing coloured socks.
I like coloured cars which may be why I can't afford an Aston

I had a Meteorite silver DB9 for 10 years. Wonderful colour for the car. Very distinguished.To my eyes it just looked a little flat, hoping it was just the weather and you’ll all tell me it’s a great colour in the light….
As I have aged I have gone even more conservative....

Fantastic colour, I loved mine. It shows some chips to easily, had the front resprayed the times to hide the chips. I had the bright mesh grills which really stand out. And carbon splitter and diffuser either really well!
My first two Astons were Meteorite and I do think they are pretty flat colours. Quantum looks similar but has a brown tint to it in the sun. Tungsten has more interest to it but there are quite a few silvers to chose from. When getting into Aston ownership I was led by the dealers advice and went for more conservative colours (they were thinking of resale value but I am now into brighter colours 
You can make up for the safer outside colour by going for a more adventurous interior. One of my meteorite cars had a black cherry interior. My Tungsten car had a Bitter Chocolate interior. Just to make them a bit different.
If you are thinking silver/grey helps with retained value my view is that Aston owners are far more open to colour these days. If you like it buy it, it doesn’t really matter what the collective thinks.

The Vantage S I just bought is Metorite silver. It doesn't stand out the way some colours do, but that's what I like about it in a way because it is more understated and doesn't take away from the car and the lines etc.. Seems a bit more classy in my eyes.

Meteorite can look good, and can look middle of the road. It is a very "gun metal" grey which I personally like, but similar to black, the secret is keeping it clean, which depending on how you want to use it, can be a ball-ache. I test drove a Meteorite car at the same time I drove the Tungsten one that I ended up buying. Side be side I preferred the Tungsten, which proved to be a bit of a chameleon in different lights. Regardless, we`ll get accused of lack of imagination for most silvers & greys! 
I used to have a Cerbera and that was in GTS blue which is a bright, rich blue and suited the raucous nature of the Cerb beautifully. However, IMO Aston's should generally be more distinguished colours, in keeping with the gentlemanly nature of the brand....... a wolf in a DJ..... and yes, my Vantage is Meteorite Silver!!
Found myself looking at a couple of iPace’s today as an everyday car and one thing I noticed is the depth of the grey colours available, of which they look very good in. I walked away thinking the iPace is a better looking car than the Rapide S I saw yesterday, which just isn’t right! It has really made me think about the Meteorite and that I’ll almost certainly be disappointed with it in the end, which is a real shame. The search for the perfect Rapide S continues!
It's very much personal choice, I guess this is stating the obvious.
I prefer Meteorite silver, which is actually grey to the other silver/grey colours. It's fair to say it can look dull in some lights however, this can be a label that can be put on many Aston colours in my view.
It helps a lot when the interior is not black!
Whatever colour you have you will always look back and have a great feeling .... Because it's an Aston.

For me I think different cars suit different colours.
Personally I like Meteorite on the Vantage, but I like citrus colours on the TVRs and I think Black suits Porsches.
I saw some matt colours on new AMs in the dealership (last week) and I thought that suited some of the cars but not all.
At the end of the day you want to look at your car and think "Wow"
If you're not thinking that now, probably not going to think it when it's on your drive
