Has anyone got experience of this venue; easy to get to? Decent eateries close by? Ditto parking (see that ncp seem to be 5 mins away), is the car likely to still be there when we get back? Etc etc?

great venue, right under deansgate... for live bands i'd assume it's actually not in revolution itself, rather next door (gorilla)... very intimate venue ,... great atmosphere.. i saw helmet on their 30th anniversary tour there 3 years ago.

There is on street parking, but be mindful of parking tickets. I would use the NCP at GMEX just for security and convenience - its not cheap but its a 2 min walk. If you do park on street then just dont leave anything on show - car crime is not as bad as it used to be in that area 15-20 years ago.

Eats wise you have within 2 min walk

Dimitris - old school Greek
Akbars - large modern curry place
Don Marco - Italian
Evuna - good Spanish
Society - up market food court, Asian, Indian, Italian, Japanese.

All the above get very busy so be aware.

thanks both - appreciate the responses. thumbup

I did think that the NCP looked convenient and, although undoubtedly not cheap, would be my choice of parking venue
