Going round in circles, help!
Discussion
Hi all
So I’ll try to summarise this briefly.
About a month ago I owned a gen 1 Audi R8 and 540i touring. I had decided to sell the 540i and buy an Audi RS7. My plan was also to sell the R8 to free up some cash for other use. Fast forward a month later, the r8 has gone and the rs7 is being rejected for a number of reasons which I won’t go into.
Thanks leaves me with a dilemma that I can’t seem to solve.
I need to buy a large family car primarily. If that large family car is fun too then I can make do with that. Otherwise I’d like to buy a large family car that’s modern and in warranty and all that, and possibly another second car to fill the fun gap.
I’ve been to view a number of things this week, RS6, RSQ8, X6m, decided that the SUV type cars aren’t for me even though the rsq8 is the perfect car in all other respects. RS6 is still a possibility but I didn’t love the suspension in the vorsprung model which is the one I’d be after.
So, I’m at a loss as to what decision/combination to get.
I need a car ideally by the end of this week as the rs7 is going back.
Budget to either buy one or split into two cars is 115k ish. No finance deals please as the point is for me to reduce my outgoings a bit.
Please help!
Thanks

Both options are good, I do quite like the latest e63s but it sounds stupid, the lack of wireless and full screen CarPlay is actually a sticking point for me, considering you’re spending so much and all it’s competitors can do it.
The alpina b5 has been on my list for a while, I’d like to see and drive one in the flesh but I wonder how alpinas hold their value over time? Considering there is no m5 touring it’s pretty much the only alternative.

If you want to reduce your outgoings, is it really sensible to spend 115k?So I’ll try to summarise this briefly.

worst 'poor me, only 115k cash to spend on cars' thread eva...

good luck whatever you pick.
🙄 just looking for advice, not trying to prove anything else. It might seem a lot but there’s also people who can drop twice that on cars without thinking and I worked hard to be able to do this.
good luck whatever you pick.

What flavour of sports car are you looking for? Obviously a DB9 is a stark contrast to an Exige - both great in their own right.
If it were me, I’d get a 981 GT4 for £70k and a 2018ish S Class for 35k. 10k in the bank for running.
This way you’ve got two cars that are up there with the very best at what they do.
