….be seen in a new-toy supercar? I know we all know the answer to that, just get in and drive and enjoy and sod what the world thinks. But to the masses do we look utterly ludicrous and faintly risible, like Clarkson in jeans or that bloke off Masterchef with the 26 year old girlfriend? Will my 30-something children cringe (they are too polite to tell me the hurtful truth) and my neighbours think I am actually a cock?

If I see an older chap in a sports car my first thought is fair play to him / them.

These days my first thought looking at sports cars is "Can I get out of it without grunting".

95% of people won't notice the car at all. The rest will be more interested in the car than who is driving it.

I drove through Bath in my F8 Spider with the roof down a couple of weeks ago and it was obvious the assembled masses thought the balding 66 year old driver was an absolute tool.

If you are so bothered about what negativety others have about what you and what you drive then a supercar or 'toy' (cringe) is probably not for you so perhaps buy a grey silver or black diesel Golf instead.

Buy the car for the car itself and enjoying driving it not what others may or may not think.

No who gives a f**k, buy the fastest, loudest, brightest supercar you can and have some fun.

Talking of which I quite fancy a bright green 570S

Who cares, YOLO and proper supercars are going to become a dying breed very quickly now with electrification being forced down our throats

Yep thats exactly why they will be a blue chip investment.

As well as giving enthusiasts continuing driving pleasure.

Everyone is too old to drive a supercar.
They are ridiculous.
Bit of fun though innit.

Thanks all, helpful reminders (mostly) that life is too short. Interesting advice also from the younger generation that a Lambo would be totally naff, and not for old farts, but anything else goes.
