Big brother, Little Brother
Discussion
You know what its like when your littlest brother comes knocking for advice about cars .... well, thats what happened to me last week.
He's got a Porsche Boxter with no extras, but he has now aquired a girlfriend and 4 year old son, so needs (?) an extra seat and can afford up to £30k. Now, he's much more of a "drive it cos it looks good" person rather than someone searching for the ultimate motoring performance, but he does like a car that travels quickly.
After much soul-searching and mental gymnastics, I came up with a shortlist of:
6 yo 911 Carrera
2-3 yo BMW M3
New Mazda RX8
New Audi TT
3 yo Cerbera.
He does bugger all mileage now his girlfriend has moved in with him - his commute is a total of 3k miles a year, plus some social, so call it a lot less than 10k pa.
Expensive repair bills would not really be welcome, and reliability would be a real issue - can you imagine the grief I'd get if he bought a bad un? but I reckon the Cerbera is a real contender in this contest.
In his opinion, the M3 doesn't look "sporty" enough, the TT is "everywhere", the RX8 "looks odd" so we're down to (realistically) a 911 or Cerbera.
Your thoughts an opinions would be gratefully received.
