Redundancy not being paid
Discussion
A bit of help from the collective if I may.
I was made redundant last year and required was put on gardening leave for 12wks to see out my notice period. All others made redundant in the last few years had received PILON. I appealed this, but was told for cash flow reasons, they could not pay all at that time.
My final day of work was confirmed as 22nd Feb, with final pay and redundancy paid by 25th Feb. I saw out my notice, 25th came, no final pay or redundancy in the bank, but knowing the standard salary run was the last working day of the month, I had no problem waiting until the 28th Feb.
28th Feb is where the 'fun' starts. Nothing paid into my account, later that day, all staff e-mail from CE stating they are "sorry for the delay in salaries, issue with bank, if not paid today will update tomorrow."
1st Mar, all staff mail from CE again; "sorry for delay, blah, blah. We are putting in place a solution to pay salaries, but unlikely today."
2nd Mar - nothing heard at all.
3rd Mar - Salary paid into account, but not redundancy. I ask finance for copy of my payslip & P45 as I no longer have access to online system, they e-mail me copy of pay slip which shows salary & redundancy both as being paid and transferred to my account! I question this with finance, no response.
4th Mar - I mail CE with HR copied asking when I will be paid my redundancy - no response.
Today, 7th Mar. Still no redundancy in my account, still no response from CE or HR. I can only chase again.
It's fairly obvious there's some major cash issues, I have been through them many times in the past with the organisation, but not to the extent that staff salaries were not paid on time. I've been asking daily to no avail.
If they don't have the money they can't pay it, but where do I stand here? It's only Statutory Redundancy Pay, but having been employed for more than 25 years it's close to the maximum so a huge amount of money to me.
Thanks

Unfortunately I think your only options will be MoneyClainOnline - at least you got your salary paid!

I'm curious as to how they managed to pay your salary but not your redundancy pay when both are shown on the payslip. Running the payroll generates a BACS file which balances back to all the individual payslips.Countdown said:

The payroll run should also be reported to HMRC.You can then see what they've told HMRC that you have been paid - https://www.gov.uk/check-income-tax-current-year

My final payslip shows £14,688 "Termination Pay" (that's the same as if I run the Gov't redundancy pay calculator), that is included in the payment section under 'electronic transfer'.Legmaster said:
