I need to get my ipod in the 996 and wondered if anyone here has done it themselves. If so, was it straightforward as I'm concerned about damaging the interior or having bits flapping and squeaking around when I've finished!

I know it's not much to get it fitted - it's just the hassle of booking it in for a day somewhere so any help woul dbe greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Fitted an Alpine Ipod adaptor in my car a few months ago. Fantastic piece of kit. Not sure if it's much help to you since I installed a new Alpine head unit aswell. Took about 30 mins in total.

Had it done on the std fit becker unit . Really simple to fit, although i had some audio shop monkey do if for about 30 quid - you can just loop the connector cable round into the storage bit under the cd storage unit - looks nice and tidy (i dont have the ipod holder).
However - word of warning - its FANTASTIC when it works but is a little Temperamental(make sure you've got the latest software) - eg mine wont shuffle the songs at the momement
