Canon Mg2500 - Ink Obsorber
Discussion
I just started getting an pop up the screen when I go to print sayind "Ink Obsorber full, contact manufacture", cant find anything in the manual about that, and if I press two buttons on the printer together it prints OK.
Any idea what that is about?. The printer is a few years old now and has just had two new print cartridges fitted.

Some Years ago, I used to replace Canon Ink Pads and reset the Waste Count.
Very likely it has hit a count rather than a full Pad activating a switch.
Will probably need some Software to reset it.
It was saturated with ink, so see how it goes, one web site which came up on how to reset it, identified lots of fixes and the actual fix started at £27.00Very likely it has hit a count rather than a full Pad activating a switch.

I will wait till it dries out and put it back in.
Well, managed to get it back together again, those flat wires are so fiddly, but still couldnt zero the counter, googled, and found a vid on u-tube of how to do it.
Failed, tried three times, and gave up, got a new Canon Pixma 2550S same as the current one for £30.00, anoying as I only bought a colour cartridge last week, but it will save.
They sure dont make them user friendly for D.I.Y.
Thanks again for the link, always worth a try.

That's unfortunate.
Replacements are cheap enough though, so that is fortunate (apart from your recent purchase of a new cartridge!).
Same printer so will just leave existing cartridges in the old printer and use then when time to renew them in the new one. Nuts really B&W plus colour cartridge, £37. New printer £30.Replacements are cheap enough though, so that is fortunate (apart from your recent purchase of a new cartridge!).

Oops, that'll teach me not to read properly!"same as the current one" DOH!

I am assuming the new one comes with cartridges.
Yes, the printer will be supplied with so called "starter" cartridges - which are generally 50% full or something from memory. The starter cartridges in my Canon (TS3150) printer lasted for ages - although to be fair it doesn't get much use, because I have a Brother Laser for the bulk of my printing.

Sorry to piggyback but I have a relatively old Canon Pixma MG5350, is there a go to place these days for cheaper ink cartridges (original or 3rd party)?
Good luck, I tried some third party cartridges some years ago, my printer didn’t like it, but I am sure if you keep the receipt and it doesn’t work you will get a refund.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
