Surely better to ask that before buying? Fanatec DD will be the best on the market for PS5.

Budget?

As has already been posted, go fanatec dd if you afford it/ find one.

I'm on my 3rf T300, they aren't known for their reliability. Never tried Logitech but people generally say they are a bit notchy when compared to the T300

Been researching this myself for the past couple of days.

The G923 is the best wheel on a budget but has a compromise with the FFB.
The T300 or T248 have a better wheel but crap pedals and are known to suffer reliability issues.
Fanatec models are superior in every way but cost three times the price.

As the poster above said, it all depends on your budget.

Personally, I’ll probably take the plunge on the G923 as it’s meant to be marginally better than the older G29.

If you have a G29 then I’ve read its not an upgrade and worth holding off.

Thrustmaster are supposed to be bringing out dd wheel later this year. The Thrustmaster Tgt wheels are supposed to be quite good but you are in Fanatec dd money then which is what I would go for of I had the budget.

Personally not a fan of the t248 as I like to change wheels. I don't think the t248 allows this.

Yeah, I read that too. Don’t think either of us have any wheel at all currently though.

Box.com has a good price on the G29 that includes a copy of GT7 but I’ve already got the game digitally. £240 for the G29 & GT7, or £300 for the G923 on its own.

The g923 is a good choice for the money. I’ve had one for a while now, for a ‘budget’ wheel it’s very good. Gives good feedback, feels nice to hold, some of its rivals feel very toy like in comparison.

The pedals are pretty good too, my only complaint is the brake is very stiff but you can mod it to feel more like a load cell.

I’ve put hundreds of hours on my set up now and never had any technical issues at all.

I occasionally look at fanatec stuff but it’s not cheap and not easily got hold of so I’ll stick with my Logitech and enjoy it.
I will upgrade at some point but I’m more than happy for now.

Anyone able to recommend a decent stand?

Don’t want a seat as I want to play it from the sofa, albeit sitting a bit more upright than normal.

Does it fold up without having to remove the wheel and pedals? Just want something that I can pack/unpack in a few seconds and then stow away under the stairs when not in use.

Ordering the G923 shortly at least.

Yes, I have the older version and it looks like they’ve moved to a quick release system from the bolts I have.

Be warned though it weighs a ton with a wheel attached. Mines sat next to me but keep playing with the controller as I’m lazy. Need to adjust the office as there’s space for it to be up full time.

You can also add a seat frame to it later on to mount a seat to make it a full rig.

T300 and playseat challenge here, wouldn’t play a racing game without it.

I’ve heard issues about t300 reliability but not had an issue, also found the FFB to be much better than on previous less expensive Logitech.

I’d also highly recommend the playseat over any stand you put up against a sofa etc. In reality the playseat challenge is a glorified deck chair, but it has a huge amount of adjustability and I can sit in it for hours without getting too hot or uncomfortable.

The other benefit is that you can position it wherever you like in the room, I.e right up to the TV! I had a dedicated cinema room in my old house and could almost fill my peripheral vision with the 120’ screen!

Can’t justify fanatec for what I do.

I’ve got a Thrustmaster T-GT wheel, with T-LCM load cell pedals all connected to a Playseat Challenge. It’s served me well for the past few years, and replaced a Logitech G29 which was a good wheel for the price, but then I had the dreaded potentiometer problem which is a known issue with the Logitechs. Firstly on the brake pedal where it was showing to be still on (by about 10%) after exiting a corner and going down the straights on GT Sport, and then later on the accelerator where I couldn’t get more than 75% power. I tried replacing the potentiometers but ultimately managed to kill it somehow where none of the pedals worked at all.

I'd also recommend the playseat challenge if you can't leave anything permanent set up. Definately better then a seperate stand in front of ya sofa!
