2 piece lift off roof

As the griff roof is such a PITA to put in the boot, has anyone ever thought about making a two piece roof which would be a lot easier to stow, and provide more boot space when it's in there. I'm thinking of an identical shape to the existing roof, but split in the middle (fore and aft) to give a left and right hand section, with an overlap/gutter/seal system to keep that nasty rain out. there would have to be a thicker section in the middle to accomodate said gutter etc but I don't see why that should be a problem.

So, if somebody's already produced one, where can I get it, and if not, why not?

Leven technology were/ are developing one. Perhaps a phone call might clarify the situation.

Leven definately. We tried the prototype on the Griff at Pistonfest (July 2004!!!!!!!).
They were struggling to get someone to make the fibreglass panels last I heard.
It would seem that it may be permanently in development. Simon/Jules to comment???

Yes it did. I had it (lh side only) on Wol, looked and fitted fine. In fact, in the five or so minutes that it was on the car, I think 4 or 5 people said they wanted to buy it!

I sent them an email about this a week ago, but yet no reply.

And yes I had the left hand bit on my car at pistonfest aswell..
