Import costs for exchanged goods.
Discussion
I purchased an item from Germany some time ago which developed a fault under warranty.
It was sent back for repair but it turns out to be unrepairable
and that particular model is no longer available.
They will give me a similar replacement whose value is more than £135,
hence they say I will have to pay duty and the associated courier charges for the paperwork.
It's just a matter of principle - it won't break the bank, but as there's no money exchanging hands, is what they are saying correct?
