The Greatest Game of All Time - Nostalgia Time

Having seen reference to the old Amiga game [i]Bureaucracy[/i] in another thread, it's got me thinking about the computer games that I grew up playing.

So, question is what are the greatest games of all time?

I'm going to go retro on my choices:

1. [b]Jet Set Willy[/b] - the best game ever. I was addicited to this when it first came out, and practically shat myself with joy when I found an emulated version 20 years later!:)

2. [b]Daley Thompson's Decathalon[/b] - breaking Kempston joysticks has never been so much fun!:thumbup:

3. [b]Manic Miner[/b] - fantastic stuff - Eugine's Lair, anyone?

Civ 2 gets my vote, and JetFighter2 or Aces over Europe for flight sims. AOE doesn't run in Windows though :-(

A quality arcade style shooting game involving llamas, toilet roll and coke cans!

Doom was fun, especially the network version!

Also loved Aces of the Pacific, Microsoft Battle of Britain and a brilliant F14 Tomcat game that I can't remember the name of.

Realms of the Haunting

A good shoot 'em up and good logic puzzles.
Nice live video footage mixed with gameplay and could be quite jumpy in places just wish they done a newer version.

Or of course Quake3 arena. Nice fast kill anything that moves gameplay, runs on all modern (and older) computers still tons and tons of online stuff for it.

Elite - now that game was simply MASSIVE. So simple, yet totally brilliant.

Other games I was into...

Space harrier
Gauntlet (that was great with 4 players - until you got sperated and 'blocked off')
Operation Wolf
Chucky Egg
Ghosts and Ghouls

Ah... snif... Retro heaven.
