Barclays Smart Investor - cash stuck?
Discussion
Posting in case anyone else has had this...
I have a Barclays Smart Investor account - it comes with two separate "pots" - one is called Investment Account and the other is called Investment Saver.
I've never been entirely sure why...
I have now sold a number of shares, so my Investment Account shows as having xxxx amount in it (with xxxx being the value of what I have sold) but when I try to withdraw, it's telling me I only have £18 available!?
I've been doing laps of the customer support options and I can't work out why the full value of what I sold isn't available.
Any ideas?
I don't rate them well at all. Far better before they 'improved' their service and changed the computer system. Many customers left at that time of chaos. Fees are too high as well. I am about to move two accounts away. They originally took over a very good forerunner, in the private customer shares business.
Have not had difficulties withdrawing cash though. From memory you go to the transactions page. Forget what they call it, but it is a statement of every cash transaction. Your shares sale proceeds should show on there, along with dividends received etc.
Think you go to a withdraw button somewhere, to send money to your previously nominated bank account.
If the entry you expect to see is not shown, it might be because the sale transaction has not been settled yet. Think it is only a few days, but not as long as it usd to be. Perhaps you looked soon after selling.
