323i Car Cover

[NDA]

Not for me.... for my other half's son.

He has an R reg 323i and would like a fitted outdoor (waterproof) car cover for it. Would anyone know the best make - or even where to look?!

I've always been undecided on car covers. A custom fit for a E36 Stormforce cover which is a outdoor suitable one with a soft inner layer is about £200. When used outside though there is always a risk that a cover that isn't well strapped down will flap about which can damage the paint causing scratches or for example on the corners of bumpers the paint being worn through to the plastic.

Or you could leave it outside uncovered and wash it every few weeks and then spend £200 having it "detailed" when it's ready to go back on the road.

Another factor is where will the car will be parked up? On an open drive in the blazing sun, in the shade , under a tree , in a hedge...
