Goodyears lasted way better than Toyos. Possibly slightly less grip in the dry but alround a better bet for me. Okay so sometimes I come out of my road a little bit sideways when the tyres are cold, but I can live with some ocassional sideways action. True Bridgestone SO2PP almost certainly were the best but these aren't an option any longer. Are they? Out of what's available now Goodyear Eagle F1 gets my vote though get the GSD3 version. Uh oh, hope that hasn't kicked off another level of tyre debating. . .
I've just put GSD3s on the fronts and I'm waiting to get a chance to put them on the back - still on Toyo at the rear - my impression is that the tyres are interchangeable - the handling balance is exactly the same, and grip is unchanged, so that's good news if you want to swap from one brand to the other but not all at once. I'm happy to hear the Goodyears wear better - even though treadwear rating is the same as the Toyo Proxes
Got Pirelle 6000 17" wheels, (On a Volvo S80 T5) had the car one year, ex demo straight from the dealer, so just had the first MOT, and needed two front tyres at 150 odd quid each, it had only done 8000 when I got it as a demo, and I have put another carefull 7000 on, so only got 15000 out of the fronts, is this usual for a guy who never ever spins the wheels?

My A6 front wheel drive got through front tyres in 10k-12k - lasting around 15k now due to me driving like a daisy.

It just goes sideways all the time..... and then that blue smoke comes off the rear tyres..... One the Sagaris though, the fronts are wearing big time as well... so at least I'll be able to get four new tyres at the same time....!
Mines just getting some Dunlop SSR tyres to stop all that nasty sideways thing and try to project more fowards type thing

£89.00 each for 255/35/18. Will be fitting them all round. Should be ok in the damp, dont expect to get more than 1000 miles from them. They are a very soft road legal hand cut slick that will struggle to cope with a 20 minute track session.

Blimmin 'eck. I want my tyres to last a bit longer than that. Sounds like you're going in for some serious track work with the Sagaris then?!
