As per title..
With all the heavy rain lately my car boot has been filling up. Even with all the carpets removed i can't for the life of me find where it's coming in from.
It got me thinking, can i buy a cheap £30 fog machine for disco's and stick it in the boot to see where its coming out from?
Anyone tried it? will it work or cause any problems i haven't thought about?

thanks

Seem to remember Mike Brewer doing this on an episode of wheeler dealers, many years ago. And it worked ok.

I've seen guys doing air tests on new buildings use smoke sticks (like a smoke bomb) to detect at what location a building isn't air tight.

Doesn't it need some internal pressure to force it out? A fogger can't provide that.

Good point. The air test guys use a massive fan!

I shouldn't post before my coffee.

Just turn the internal fan on low & cover the usual exhausts.

If you were to fill an enclosed boot with enough fog though surely it’ll have to escape from somewhere wouldn’t it?

Remove all carpets etc, sprinkle it all over & the water runs will be visible as runs in the powder.

This is the right answer. Start low down and work your way up...

Its a bit tiresome getting trim out, but this is 110% the best method.
