Peter Bowles R.I.P.

Sad to see Peter Bowles died yesterday, albeit a good innings at 85.

Whilst many will know him for To The Manor Born, I personally think some of his lesser known work was better - The Irish RM particularly

He appeared in The Bank Job, a really good film starring Jason Statham but far removed from the usual saving a kidnapped girl and flying sideways through the air firing two machine guns.

PB’s role is fairly small, someone in high power walking the corridors of Whitehall but he played it to perfection.

Remember him also from Only When I Laugh which I haven’t seen for ages but was good on its day. Will be missed.

I’m glad I managed to see him in his last role as the Exorcist in the west end a few years back. A bit of a change from Richard DeVere. He was a class act.
