Just been watching the fully charged channel on youtube where they are showcasing a French company offering a 15kwh electric conversion (which keeps the manual gear box) for small cars (Fiat 500 in this case) and the hope to have a conversion kit available for 7-8000 euro.

it would be great to have a simple electric runaround for city driving but can a 15kwh battery manage 60 miles on a single charge? Sound a bit of a stretch.

4 miles/kWh at low speeds in a small city car might be achievable I'd suggest? Our i3 used to average between 4 and 5 miles/kWh dependent on the time of year with similar use.

Don’t forget that includes a subsidy from the french government

They want to get the engine to motor swap carried out in 4 hours, good luck with that

I saw somewhere a company that do an electric conversion for the original Mini which is based on using the front subframe as an “EV unit”.

Found it…..

It's hard to imagine rev matching an electric motor - I'm sure electronic control will be a big factor in making it feel comfortable to drive?

Seems perfect for people who need a cheap EV for around town. The average commute is 6 miles. There is very little need to spend £50k on an EV doing 400 miles - look at Norway, people have a small EV for local trips and keep a petrol alternative for longer journeys. The obsession with range is, for most people, not an obsession.
