V5 in my name and PCNs received for a car I've never owned

Hello all, just after a bit of advice.

Back in October I received a V5C in the post for an MG ZR - I live at number 15, however the address on the letter was 14 (correct street).
Oddly enough, my name was correct - which has a slightly unusual spelling.

I messaged the DVLA on Twitter (couldn't help) and then called them (couldn't help, told me to write in) - I did so and thought that was that. I also sent the V5 back with the letter.

Roll forward to today, I've received 2x Dart Charge PCNs for the vehicle - I called Dart Charge who were very helpful and filled in their online form, not that I have any confidence it'll be sorted without an extreme amount of faff.

I've also re-written to the DVLA asking them to make sure the vehicle is not linked to me in any way, but as it still seems to be I'm not sure this will help.

Has anyone had this before, and how did you deal with it?
I can't find many examples of this happening online. Cheers all!

Fill out the new keeper section with the dvla details and send it off to them. Or fill it out as scrap and send it off, have you checked to see if it’s taxed and insured ?

Says he sent the V5 back.

This is potentially very dangerous as somebody has essentially stolen his identity here.

I think this has to be sorted via the DVLA. They have to change the details on their system. Whoever has it and is taxing it will only be able to drive it until the DVLA void the tax and he realises they've done that.

Just got to persist with the DVLA but should be done ASAP before this gets worse.

Check if it’s taxed and insured. Then worn registered keeper will get tax refund then scrap it.

Matt, I don't know you, but I suspect that I know who you are (if I am mistaken, this will not make a deal of sense). Is it not quite a coincidence that it is a ZR? They are idiot magnets - is someone fking with you?

If you cancelled the tax, you’d get a cheque in your name posted to your address….

Shame you’ve sent the v5 off as you need the number off it to do it.

Problem is, you'd get the cheque, but then be responsible for an untaxed vehicle, as far as the authorities are concerned. Better to SORN it?

Just a quick update - eventually the DVLA wrote back saying they couldn't help due to the address being one number different.
It was pretty clear someone had done this intentionally, and after a chat with the police they seemed to agree. Remarkably helpful in this instance!

Someone who thought they were causing me a headache is probably going to need a few paracetamol after The Met have finished with them

I'm no longer linked to the car, and Dart Charge dropped the PCNs.

I once had someone "insure" an RX8 in my name with Direct Line (not sure how that bit worked at all) and put themselves as a named driver. All they knew was my name and address. All other details were wrong. First I knew was when an insurance doc pack arrived. Whatever they do they get away with showing as insured on computer systems for a couple of weeks.

Them the parking and speeding tickets (Manchester <-> Birmingham - probably drugs. Commenting on the ethnicity of the gentleman concerned would probably upset some people on here) started to flood in.

Luckily I had the good fortune to speak to a PC at Hyde on the phone, very nice chap, and he told me to just ignore everything and he'd sort it all out. Which he did - they all stopped arriving and I never heard back about any of the other stuff. All pretty painless really, I think I just got hold of a very helpful chap who knew his onions. I never even had to fill anything in.
