EE 4GEE Sim Card Router - Having issues working with Sky Box
Discussion
Hi everyone,
Having some real difficulty if anyone could please kindly help.
So we have had Sky Q and Multi-Room with wth Sky MINI boxes in a few rooms.
In the area we live we do not get fibre broadband so we had Skys normal broadband for years, as finding it slow when dowloading ect we decided to a few days ago get a EE 4GEE SIM Card Router (SIM CARD ONLY NO LANDLINE CONNECTION).
Managed to hook all the Sky up to the new EE 4G router and has been real tempermental and is driving us mad, the mini boxes drop and lose connection, all the on demand stuff/YouTube/Apps through the Sky Box do not work, sometimes it does and then everything crashes - but seems to still connect with my phone and other devices.
Can anyone suggest anything? Do not mind buying a new router and put the 4G sim card into it if this would solve.
I appreciate this could be a problem with the EE Router and not Sky but other devices seem to stay connected.
We have plugged the old Sky Router back in as we still paying for this at the minute.
Any help much appreciated, thank you

Does it work perfectly on the sky broadband?
Could be interference maybe - are your Sky boxes talking to each other on the 5 or 2.4 connection?
Hi there, it did work absolutely fine on the Sky Broadband. I have used only the 2.4ghz connection (our house is fairly large and believe the 2.4 has better range if thats correct?) When connected on the EE 4G and I go to the network connection settings on one of the Sky Boxes theres 2 x Cross Marks, think one says Network Connection and one says Internet Connection, the Internet Connection X cross mark seems to dip in and out and not be stable. Could be interference maybe - are your Sky boxes talking to each other on the 5 or 2.4 connection?
It's probably not relevant but better mention encase, the Sky Broadband download speed was like 6/7mbps something like that and when I do a speed test on my phone or laptop on the EE 4G speed is like over 70mbps if that is of any use.
If you have a Google you’ll find numerous reports of folk having issues with skyq and 3rd party broadband / routers.
I’d buy some powerline adapters from Amazon and turn off wifi on the sky devices as there are many reports of this improving the situation. If it doesn’t work for you send’um back
