I've got a half kilo pack of cured streaky bacon and it's very salty - has anyone got a recipe I might use it in? I'm having for breakfast in a sarnie at the moment and it's ok but probably not the best use for it.

Is it possible to soak the salt out of it?

Salty bacon would be a great ingredient in Brazilian Black Bean Stew - one of mine and my wife's favourite comfort foods

Add to soaked split yellow peas for pea and ham soup.

Add an onion, two celery ribs and a large carrot, all diced and sweated in butter for flavour.
