I've got a problem where my bonnet catch has snapped and the battery has gone flat. is there a way of jump starting the car from the engine bay?

I'm not that mechanically minded so excuse my amateur question.

There should be an emergency release for the bonnet in the left hand wheel arch. You may have to jack the car and take the wheel off.

Loads of pictures on the internet for "emergency release".

Done that it pulled straight out, I've tried a borescope and metal hook to pull the catch but haven't had much success, despite having had to do this a few years ago.

I was looking to get it running, if the battery is not shot, so i can move it temporarily without setting the thing alight!

Do you know which end the cable has snapped? It may be the handle end in which case open the door manually and remove the carpet cover around the lever and pull the cable with pliers.

Any lights come on in the dash when you turn the ignition on?

If so possible to bump start?

I've jumped a tvr from an earth and the positive terminal of the starter motor so assume that should work for your 964.

This depends on the model year of the car. Early cars don't have this. This might help https://rennlist.com/forums/964-forum/441850-help-...

There are other threads too where people have had the issue. As for bump starting I have no idea I've never tried it with mine.
